The minute 7yo Thekleia told me she wanted butterflies to be the theme of her birthday cake, without any other restriction, I knew it was time for me to try the double barrel cake for the first time! I got inspired by an old entry in CakeCentral magazine( I tried to find out the original creator’s business name, but with no luck).
The butterflies are handpainted using all colours of the rainbow. Inside, there is chocolate mud cake with whipped white chocolate/cream cheese ganache.
Not only she loved it, but her 5yo brother as well (which is pretty cool, considering the fact that he is all into superheroes and stuff)!!
